Job Description

Alcon is hiring Apprentice Software Engineers for its Lifecycle Management (LCM) team in Bengaluru. This 24-month apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in software development, medical device lifecycle management, software testing, operating system validation, and platform sustainment.

As an Apprentice Software Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to software maintenance and testing activities, support medical device products, and learn industry-standard engineering practices in a regulated environment.

As an Apprentice Software Engineer, you will support software development, lifecycle management, testing, validation, and maintenance activities for medical device software. You'll gain practical exposure to software engineering, operating system upgrades, defect analysis, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a highly regulated engineering environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Support software development and lifecycle management activities.

- Assist in software implementation, validation, and verification.

- Participate in functional and integration testing.

- Support operating system upgrades and patch validation.

- Assist in defect analysis and root cause investigation.

- Prepare technical documentation and engineering reports.

- Participate in software quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Support automation and productivity enhancement projects.

- Work with experienced engineers on regulated medical device products.

- Learn software engineering best practices throughout the apprenticeship.
