As a Software Engineer, you will build, maintain, and enhance software applications that support bp's Biofuels Technology platform. You'll collaborate with software engineers, product managers, QA specialists, and platform teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for global business operations.

This role offers hands-on experience with backend development, APIs, databases, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, cloud technologies, and software lifecycle practices. You'll contribute to projects that improve automation, sustainability compliance, and operational efficiency while continuously expanding your technical expertise.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Build, test, and maintain software features with guidance from senior engineers and technical leads.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, product teams, and platform specialists to deliver high-quality software.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering standards and best practices.

- Analyze business requirements and convert them into manageable software development tasks.

- Develop unit tests and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.

- Participate in code reviews and continuously improve coding quality through constructive feedback.

- Support application scalability, performance, reliability, and security across production environments.

- Investigate software defects, troubleshoot issues, and implement practical solutions.

Qualifications & Eligibility

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.

- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and programming fundamentals.

- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, APIs, databases, testing, and version control.

- Familiarity with backend development, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and secure development practices.

- Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
