As a Junior Ubuntu Software Engineer, you will contribute to designing, developing, integrating, testing, packaging, and maintaining Ubuntu software components. You'll collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams while working on operating systems, automation platforms, software packaging, cloud technologies, and developer tools.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain software using Python, Rust, Go, C, and C++.

- Package, integrate, test, and release open-source software for Ubuntu repositories.

- Debug software issues and implement reliable technical solutions.

- Build and maintain automation systems for software building, testing, and deployment.

- Contribute to Ubuntu's operating system components and software repositories.

- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams on development projects.

- Write and improve technical documentation for software and developer resources.

- Participate in open-source community projects and contribute upstream improvements.

- Improve software quality, performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Continuously learn emerging technologies and modern software engineering practices.

- Support software integration across desktop, server, cloud, and embedded platforms.

- Participate in company engineering events and technical collaboration sessions.

Qualifications & Eligibility

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM discipline.

- Fresh graduates and early-career software engineers are encouraged to apply.

- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
