As a Software Engineer on the Microsoft Fabric Core Platform team, you will contribute to building and operating the core platform services that power Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data.

You'll develop highly scalable backend services, improve platform reliability, optimize distributed systems, and collaborate with engineering teams to build secure and resilient cloud infrastructure.

This role offers excellent exposure to Azure Cloud, distributed systems, backend engineering, microservices, cloud infrastructure, enterprise software development, and AI-powered data platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend platform services powering Microsoft Fabric.

- Build scalable distributed systems that support millions of enterprise users worldwide.

- Improve deployment reliability and operational excellence across Azure regions.

- Develop secure, reliable, and high-performance cloud services.

- Enhance platform resilience through testing, telemetry, monitoring, and incident response.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable platform capabilities.

- Participate in software design discussions, code reviews, and architecture improvements.

- Contribute to service health, availability, and performance optimization.

- Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.

- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement long-term engineering solutions.

- Follow software engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

- Continuously learn emerging cloud technologies and contribute innovative ideas.

Qualifications & Eligibility

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

- Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

- Strong programming knowledge in one or more languages such as C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

- Good understanding of software engineering principles and backend development.

- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.

- Must be able to meet Microsoft's security screening and cloud background verification requirements.
